Work Scope: Residential HVAC Design

The owner and Architect of this 4000 sf private residence desired the comfort of radiant heat with the cooling efficiency of a central air conditioning system all while utilizing state-of-the –art high efficiency equipment. To answer this challenge, AEP designed a hybrid hydronic heat and heat pump system. This system coupled with a Heat Recovery Ventilator circulates heated or cooled condition air mixed with fresh outdoor air at just the right mixture and temperature at any given time throughout the year. During the winter months with the coldest outdoor temperatures, the heat pumps and air handlers cycle down and the heating is taken over by the supplemental hydronic system which uses a high efficiency condensing boiler and pump to circulate hot water through a network of radiant flooring and baseboard heating radiators.
